The power-sharing Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria welcomed a draft agreement proposed by GERB and the Tuesday meeting of the GERB National Council as "a step towards creating an atmosphere conducive to constructive dialogue". "We are happy that many of the proposals in the memorandum that CC-DB proposed [to GERB-UDF], have been discussed with the due seriousness and are embraced in the agreement proposed by GERB," CC-DB said in a position circulated on Tuesday.

The position further says: "The stability of the country and its sustainable development in the foreseeable future are the top priority for CC-DB. However, an irreplaceable and fundamental task is to ensure the continuation of reforms in the judiciary, the security services, the election of honest and expert members of the regulators, full membership in Schengen and the eurozone. This must be done with clear commitments, which excludes the formation of majorities outside those of the two parliamentary formations."

CC-DB thus seems to reject the idea of floating majorities that GERB suggests in its draft agreement.

CC-DB call on GERB colleagues to start negotiations as soon as Mariya Gabriel is back in Sofia from Bucharest where she will be attending a forum of the European People's Party.

The CC-DB negotiating team will consist of the coalition leaders and Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov.

"For us, every agreement is a promise between the parties, and good promises are promises kept. That is why we will propose on Wednesday that the National Assembly effectively accept by vote the resignation of the government of Nikolay Denkov," the position says.
