A documentary exhibition titled "Let My People Go" opened in Papenburg, Germany, on November 9 and will be on until November 30, the Bulgaria Media Portal www.eurochicago.com reports.

The display tells about the rescue of Jews from Europe through the so-called "Bulgarian Corridor". The event marks the 80th anniversary of the salvation of Bulgarian Jews from deportation to Nazi death camps during World War II.

The exhibits include original documents from the Federal Archives in Berlin, the Central Hesse Archive in Wiesbaden, the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem, the UK National Archives, and the International Red Cross Archives in Geneva.

The exhibition was to feature also the posthumous awards of Bulgarian King Boris III, but they did not arrive at the insistent recommendation of the German Police in order to protect public order, the organizer of the exhibition, the Ognischte German-Bulgarian Association, said on Facebook.

The documentary exhibition is taking place under the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry's Programme for Assistance to Bulgarian Organizations and Media Abroad for 2022-2023.
