As at 4 p.m. on Sunday, voter turnout in the Bulgarian local election runoffs is 26.40%, Central Election Commission Deputy Chair and Spokesperson Rossitsa Mateva told a briefing. Turnout is lowest in the Danubian city of Ruse, at 15.77%, and highest in the northern town of Roman, at 77.94%, she said. In Sofia, the voter turnout is 23.72%.
As at 5 p.m., the election day was progressing normally, Mateva also said. The Central Election Commission received 18 complaints and 27 alerts. Only one alerts concerns vote-buying, and it was referred to the Interior Ministry. Several alerts concern publication of preliminary results, which is a violation of the Election Code if done before the election day's end.
As at 5 p.m., machine voting was officially discontinued in 48 polling stations, 11 of which in Sofia Municipality.
