Turkish President Racep Tayyip Erdogan expressed Turkiye's "unqualified support" for Azerbaijan during a telephone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to a press statement of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye.

"During the call which took place on Wednesday evening, President Erdogan was briefed by his counterpart Aliyev on the current situation related to the operation launched by Azerbajan," the statement said, apparently referring to the operation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Erdogan reiterated to Aliyev Turkiye's "unqualified support" for Azerbaijan. "The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional issues concerning both countries," the press statement says.
