site.btaGovernment Approves Memorandum of Intent between Defence Ministries of Bulgaria, Ukraine


Meeting here on Wednesday, Bulgaria's Council of Ministers adopted a decision, approving a draft Memorandum of Intent between the Bulgarian Defence Ministry the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, and authorized the Bulgarian Defence Minister to sign it.
In accordance with the declaration adopted by the National Assembly on July 6, opportunities are negotiated for continued practical support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian military aggression to protect its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity through cooperation that will support the development of Ukraine's necessary defence capabilities, as well as to enhance its interoperability by NATO standards, the Government said.
The memorandum is to be signed by Minister Todor Tagarev, the Bulgarian Defence Ministry said earlier on Tuesday. The signing of the agreement does not entail legal obligations for the parties and does not imply the spending of additional funds from the state budget, the Ministry also said.
