Sofia Regional History Museum is presenting an exhibition titled "Oh, That Circus!"to be opened officially on September 12. The exhibition at 1 Banski Square will be on until October 1, the museum said.
The exhibition is centered on the story of the former building of the Sofia State Circus - an innovative achievement of the architects Eroslav Stankov and Kostadinka Stankova-Mutafova, the museum recalls.
The building was built on the Salt Market square in the capital. It existed for about 20 years before a fire wiped it out on September 25, 1983. a specially made model of the building will be among the highlights of the exhibition.
The temporary exposition is also directly related to the admiration for the Bulgarian circus art and the numerous artists and artistic families dedicated themselves to it professionally. The Sofia Regional History Museum organized the exhibition in cooperation with Dragomir Draganov and Konstantin Achkov (Stankov family archives), the organizers of the exposition note.
"The exhibition pays tribute to the artists of Bulgarian circus art," the museum said.
