Bulgarian Posts is expanding its network for the delivery of traceable mail, the company's press center said on Monday. This became possible after Bulgarian Posts joined the PRIME cooperative, one of the main alliances in the postal sector for cross-border parcel delivery.

A total of 159 selected postal operators with an obligation to provide universal postal service are members of PRIME. Three organisation provides a framework for three agreements - for tracked, express and registered mail. The tracked service does not require a signature on receipt, as is currently the case. The customer will be able to track the entire shipment and will receive it within a pre-specified time frame. One of the expected results is that Bulgaria will be added to more foreign e-commerce sites as a delivery destination.

The introduction of the new options for Bulgarian Post's users will help the company to enter the e-commerce market to a greater extent. This is also a step towards the implementation of the company's new financial-management model, the company said.

In July the Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeikov identified solving the problems at Bulgarian Posts as his priority. The recovery plan for the company should be ready in September at the latest, Gvozdeikov then said.
