Cabinet appointed eight new regional governors - of Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Pazardzhik, Razgrad, Ruse, Smolyan and Shumen.

Plamen Yanev, who has been acting as deputy governor, is now the new governor of Burgas. 

Ivaylo Zdravkov is appointed governor of Veliko Tarnovo. Until now, he was director of the Territorial Directorate of the Revenue Agency in Veliko Tarnovo.

Maria Basheva-Venkova is the new governor of Gabrovo. She is a consultant to the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria and has management experience in the construction sector.

Valentina Kaytazova is appointed governor of Pazardzhik. Recently she has been the head of the Pazardzhik Regional Department of Education.

Vladimir Dimitrov takes over as governor of Razgrad. His entire career was spent in the private sector in the fields of trade and construction.

Danail Kovachev is appointed governor of Ruse. He is a former head of the Ivanovo police station and head of the police station "Police" Dve mogili, at the Police Department of the Ministry of Interior - Ruse.

Zahari Sirakov is the new governor of Smolyan. He is a lawyer by profession.

Dobromir Dobrev is appointed governor of Shumen. He is currently professor and lecturer in political science, philosophy, ethics and regional and security studies at Shumen University.
