Bulgaria Ensemble Wins Silver at World Challenge Cup All-round in Romania

Bulgaria's ensemble won the silver medal for its three-ribbon, two-ball all-around routine at the World Cup in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, late of Saturday. On Sunday, they won the bronze medal in three-ribbon and two-ball final.

Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Radina Tomova received a score of 31.350 points for their performance.

The girls trained by Vesela Dimitrova, Mihaela Maevska and Ysena Stoineva collected a total of 66.250 points (34.900 with five hoops and 31.350 with the three-ribbon, two-ball routine) to get the silver.

Italy was the all-around champion with 70.050 points(36.550 and 33.500 respectively), and Brazil was third with 64.550 points.

On Sunday, In the first ensemble final with five balls, Bulgaria remained in sixth place. The Bulgarian ensemble made errors in their combination, including a device going off the field, and were rated 30.400 (17.000 for difficulty, 7.300 for artistry and 6.400 for execution).

The gold went to the Italian team with 35.500, ahead of Brazil with 34.450 and Mexico with 32.150 points.

Later on Sunday, the Bulgarians finished in third place with their three-ribbon and two-ball routine. They received a score of 30.850 (16.100, 8.150, 6.600) and took the bronze medal.

The Brazilian ensemble won the gold medal with 31,700 points, and Italy came in second with 31,500 points.
