Conditions for hiking in the mountains are good. The weather is sunny and calm, but local showers are expected in the afternoon, the Mountain Rescue Service said Saturday. Checking weather conditions in advance is advisable.

Both the Sitnyakovo lift and the cabin lift at Borovets mountain resort are working, as is the Simeonovo lift and both Vitoshko Lale lifts on Mt. Vitosha.

Mostly sunny weather in the mountains Saturday, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. Afternoon cloud, with local short thundery showers. Light easterly wind, to moderate west-northwesterly at the highest peaks of Rila and Pirin.  Highs: 27 C at 1,200 m, 19C at 2,000 m.
