After numerous publications in Romanian media about a bomb threat sent to the Bulgarian Embassy, a representative of the diplomatic mission confirmed for BTA that a bomb threat was received on the Embassy's email address on Wednesday morning. The competent Bulgarian and Romanian authorities were immediately notified.

Bulgaria's Ambassador to Romania Radko Vlaykov declined the Romanian authorities' offer to evacuate the Embassy staff. The following search of the premises failed to confirm the legitimacy of the threat. The street in front of the Embassy was closed during the search.

The Bulgarian Embassy extended its gratitude to the Romanian authorities for their prompt and very professional response to the threat.
