The National Assembly will vote on the cabinet proposed by Continue the Change-Democratic (CC-DB) Bulgaria Prime Minister-designate Nikolay Denkov at an extraordinary sitting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the press office of Parliament said in a press release. The sitting has been convoked by National Assembly Chairperson Rosen Zhelyazkov on Monday after President Rumen Radev issued a decree asking Parliament to approve the proposal.
The agenda for the Tuesday sitting of Parliament has three items: electing a Prime Minister, voting on the government structure and electing a Council of Ministers.
The regular government on a rotating basis will be the first in Bulgaria’s history, if elected. The proposed government was put together after CC-DB, which is the second largest group in Parliament, reached an agreement with the largest party, GERB-UDF. Denkov will rotate as prime minister and deputy prime minister over a nine-month period with Mariya Gabriel of GERB-UDF.
President Radev will also attend Parliament’s extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, the presidential press office said.
