Ukraine's newly appointed Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Uluschuk presented her credentials to President Rumen Radev, the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Sofia reported on Friday.
"Ukraine is grateful to Bulgaria for its comprehensive political, economic, financial, humanitarian and military support. We are also grateful for the help you are giving to tens of thousands of Ukrainian families who have found temporary refuge in your country," Ilashchuk said in Bulgarian in a video message published on the embassy's Facebook page. "These gestures are a continuation of the long-standing friendly relations between our peoples," she added.
Ilashchuk revealed that she visited the villages and cities in Southern Ukraine populated with ethnic Bulgarians as part of her preparations for the appointment. "There I experienced the rich Bulgarian culture preserved in its original form. In an independent Ukraine, the Bulgarian community has always had and will always have the opportunity to preserve its identity and will remain a bridge for friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation. The Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria will do everything necessary to make this happen," she stated.
