A 21-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Andrej Hunko (Germany, UEL), will be in Bulgaria between March 31 and April 3, 2023 to observe the conduct of the early parliamentary elections on April 2, alongside observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the Council of Europe said. 

The delegation will meet leaders or representatives of political parties and coalitions competing in the elections, as well as representatives of civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on April 2.

A member of the Venice Commission - the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.

A joint press conference is scheduled on Monday 3 April at 2.30 p.m. in the Serdika Room of the Sofia Hotel Balkan, Place Sveta Nedelya 5, Sofia.
