site.btaDay 89: Good Weather Conditions for RSV 421 as It Sails through Atlantic

The military crew of the Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril I Metodii (RSV 421) expects favorable weather conditions in the next few days in the Atlantic Ocean on the previously charted course to the northeast along the coast of Brazil, reported to BTA the ship's Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander Radko Muevski, and assistant watch officer, Officer Designate Andrey Petrov.
In the afternoon of March 25, RSV 421 was sailing at 10 knots south of Cape Cabo Frio near Rio de Janeiro. After about 200 nautical miles, the ship will enter the area of the South Equatorial Current. It is possible that it may slow down the ship, depending on what exactly is its direction compared to the course set by the navigators.
RSV 421 is sailing to the next intermediate stop on its route, the Spanish city of Cartagena, where it should arrive in mid-April. The ship is expected to dock in Varna at the end of April.
BTA's Daily News editor Konstantin Karagyozov is the only member of the media who is travelling on board the ship to Livingston Island and back and covered the Bulgarian expedition on site throughout its stay in Antarctica.
