site.btaSilistra Hosts Toulouse-Lautrec Exhibition

An exhibition of works by Toulouse-Lautrec opened at the Art Gallery in Silistra.
It contains 49 drawings and lithographs by the great French artist. They are part of the impressive Kesauri collection, which contains more than 3,000 works by master painters of world renown.
"Two series of prints are included in the exhibition. One includes the cover and illustrations of Georges Clemenceau’s book At the Foot of Sinai, in which he describes the life of the Jews. We also have graphic sheets of popular songs that were sung at the time. They are of great interest to the artists and we hope the exhibition will appeal to the general public," Yordan Kolev, director of the Art Gallery in Silistra, told BTA on Friday.
The exhibition will be on display until the end of June. After that, the gallery will exhibit works by Rene Magritte and Edgar Degas, also owned by the Kesauri family from Georgia.
