site.btaSerbia Changes Rules for Transit with Temporary Plates
The Embassy of Bulgaria in Belgrade said that the way and regime of processing cars registered with temporary plates transiting through the territory of Serbia has been changed, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Friday.
According to the new customs rules, a transit declaration is to be filed for vehicles entering the customs territory of Serbia, and this applies to motor vehicles with temporary registration plates (ZOOL, IT, etc.), with which persons pass (transit) through the customs territory of the Republic of Serbia, to motor vehicles with temporary registration plates (ZOOL, IT, etc.), which are imported into the customs territory of the Republic of Serbia, in order to be released for free movement, and to motor vehicles with temporary registration.
The declaration for transit of the vehicle through the customs territory of the Republic of Serbia may also be filed in any of the countries of the European Union or at the border crossing point upon entry into the Republic of Serbia, and the procedure does not imply the collection of any customs taxes and fees.
The Embassy of Bulgaria in Belgrade draws the attention of Bulgarian citizens transiting through the territory of Serbia with vehicles registered with temporary plates to the obligation to request from the customs officials upon entering the country the submission of the declaration in question, in order to avoid the possibility of committing a customs offence, which is detected upon leaving Serbia.
