An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was registered in Southeastern Turkiye, TASS reported, citing the Turkiye Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD).
The epicenter was at a depth of about 10 kilometres in the Mediterranean Sea, about 5 kilometers from the Turkish coast, in the Hatay province.
So far, there are no reports of casualties or damage.
The Syrian National Earthquake Centre said that the the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4, DPA reported. It was felt in parts of the Syrian province of Idlib and in some areas of Lebanon.
People in Idlib have taken to the streets in panic. The epicenter was 61 kilometres from the city and at a depth of 18.8 kilometres. The quake was recorded at 21:47 local time.
