A second batch of humanitarian aid was sent from Sozopol to Turkiye on Tuesday. It is transported by a volunteer to the distribution point in Kirklareli, from where the aid will be distributed to the quakes-hit areas, the press centre of Sozopol Municipality said.
The first batch for those affected by the February 6 earthquakes in Turkiye was delivered on February 12.
Humanitarian aid will also be sent to Syria through the Bulgarian Embassy there, Sozopol Municipality said.
The residents of Sozopol and the villages in the municipality have been donating food products, clothing, and hygiene products. The campaign to aid Turkiye and Syria continues.
On February 28, the Sozopol Town Hall will vote on Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev’s proposal for a BGN 10,000 grant to Turkiye in support of the recovery efforts, those affected, and the families of the victims.
