The Council of Ministers Wednesday proposed to Parliament to ratify a contribution agreement between Bulgaria and the EU under the Member State compartment of the InvestEU Programme in accordance with Regulation 2021/523 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

The Council of Ministers approved the draft agreement as a basis for negotiations on November 2, 2022, and it was signed on November 7 with electronic signatures by Finance Minister Rositza Velkova for Bulgaria and EC Director General for Economic and Financial Affairs Maarten Verwey for the European Union.

The InvestEU Programme provides an EU guarantee in support of financing and investment operations in key target areas of Union policy; advisory support, in particular for the development of investment projects and for access to finance; and a database providing project visibility and bringing together investors and project promoters.
