The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,264,327, after 4,776 tests identified 697 new infections on Friday, 61% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 14.6%.
Sofia tops the list of new cases with 281 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 46, and Stara Zagora with 32.
The active cases are 10,452. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 617, including 50 in intensive care. Of the 92 new hospital admissions, 71 were not vaccinated.
Another 382 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,216,130.
Four fatalities were reported (three of them unvaccinated), bringing the death toll to 37,745.
With 1,560 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,557,445 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,072,235 people are fully vaccinated, and 897,071 have received a booster jab (including 84,261 reboostered).
