Ivailo Kalfin Will Be

Sofia, October 10 (BTA) - ABV leader Georgi Purvanov told a news
conference on Friday that Ivailo Kalfin will be ABV's floor
leader in the new legislature. Purvanov spoke after a meeting of
ABV's National Council.

Purvanov said that Kalfin will lead ABV's delegation during the
talks to form a government. It will include the deputy floor
leaders and possibly more ABV representatives depending on the
highlights and priorities that will come to the fore. Purvanov
said that GERB have invited ABV to present a written statement
of issues that it holds crucial to the talks, although they
haven't announced formally their policies, plans and
commitments. Purvanov urged GERB to make public their governance
policy and the issues on which they are ready to make
concessions. The former president said that ABV will not discuss
the government lineup and executive appointments.

Ivailo Kalfin presented the highlights of ABV's legislative
agenda. These include establishment of an ad hoc inquiry
committee to look into the energy sector deficit, new selection
procedure of South Stream contractors, lifting the moratorium on
the Belene N-plant and setting clear energy policies. Also, the
party will table bills regarding social protection measures,
election legislation, and fairer taxation, including
progressive income taxation.
