Construction of Three
New Buildings Begins
in Sofia Tech Park

Sofia, December 11 (BTA) - Construction of three new buildings
starts in Sofia Tech Park. President Rosen Plevneliev and
Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski turned the first sod of the
Collider Activity Center building here on Thursday. This is a
project of Walltopia - the first private investor in Sofia Tech
Park. Construction of Sofia Tech Park's last two buildings also
starts Thursday - the innovative lecture discussion forum and a
car parking, said Sofia Tech Park's Executive Director Elitsa
Panayotova.

Plevneliev said in his speech that the Information and
Communication Technology cluster works in Bulgaria and has led
to the creation of over 30,000 jobs in recent years. The
President recalled that from the beginning Sofia Tech Park's
ambition is to be a centre of the innovative ecosystem in
Bulgaria. Plevneliev noted that the company, which is
constructing its building, does business in over 50 countries
across four continents.

Minister Loukarski voiced confidence that the investment will be
an example for other companies, who could bring their projects
to Sofia Tech Park. He said that the Ministry of Economy is
committed to solving the problems of Bulgarian enterprises and
will concentrate its efforts on improving the conditions for
doing business in this country.

The Collider Activity Center is designed to cover an area of
13,000 sq metres and house a research centre and the company's
headquarters. Sports areas, high-tech offices, recreation and
commercial areas will also be constructed on the territory of
the complex. Its projected value is 12 million leva. The
architectural project for the building was designed by the Dutch
architect Neville Mars, who was selected from an international
competition. PK/MY
