Presidential candidate and Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov met protesters in Sofia's Lyulin borough on Friday over complaints about residents of a dormitory in the borough. The protest was organized by local residents.

The protesters said they faced daily harassment from residents of Block 464 and had filed complaints. Kostadinov said the harassment of people living in the area was a political problem because those in power were not doing their jobs. He said the problem could be resolved very quickly, but the lack of police action meant those responsible were being shielded.

"If it were up to me, these people would not be living here because they have neither title deeds nor tenancy agreements. Whether they can stay here depends on central and local authorities," Kostadinov said. "I will speak to Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev and request information from Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev. I will also raise this issue on the floor of the National Assembly," he added.

Commenting on repairs to the Freedom Monument on Shipka Peak, he said the work amounted to destruction rather than restoration.

Vazrazhdane Sofia Municipal Councillor Deyan Nikolov also attended the protest.
