“Let us value and protect this freedom and independence so that we can continue along the path of development leading to a secure and stable Bulgaria,” Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Delyan Peevski wrote Tuesday on Facebook on the occasion of the 118th anniversary of Bulgaria’s declaration of independence.

"118 years ago today, an independent Bulgaria was proclaimed thanks to bold political decisions and a sense of responsibility. With this great act, our country became a free, equal and independent European state," Peevski added.
