site.btaSixth Balloon Fiesta Gets Under Way in Belogradchik

The sixth edition of the Balloon Fiesta has begun in Belogradchik, the municipal administration said here on Saturday.

Dozens of visitors gathered early in the day at the Panairishte area, from where the balloons took off over the Belogradchik Rocks. The same site will serve as the launch area in the coming days, with flights taking place subject to suitable weather conditions, the administration said. 

The accompanying programme includes an adventure picnic, games, jeep safaris, ATV rides and hiking tours among the Belogradchik Rocks. Tastings of local wines and bel muzh, a traditional dish from the Turlak region, are also planned.

At the same time, the Municipality of Belogradchik launched the Craftsmen's Bazaar initiative, held at Vazrazhdane Square from September 18 to 20.

The bazaar features handmade souvenirs, ceramic items, wood carvings, jewellery and local products. Children can take part in themed drawing activities dedicated to Bulgarian traditions.
