The hydrological situation in the Bulgarian section of the Danube River remains difficult due to low water levels, the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River said.
According to the River Supervision Directorate in Ruse, part of the Executive Agency Maritime Administration, a self-propelled vessel ran aground in the area of the Romanian town of Corabia over the past 24 hours. It is outside the fairway and is not obstructing the passage of other vessels.
During the same period, the Danube's level rose by one centimetre near Nikopol and Novo Selo. At the other water gauge stations, levels fell by between one and two centimetres.
The Danube's level at Ruse is minus 127 cm below the conventional zero datum, down by two centimetres over the past 24 hours. The forecast for the next few days is for the water level to rise.
All restrictions on the navigation of vessels are in force along the entire stretch of the river.
