site.btaVazrazhdane Backs Independence for Scotland, Wales, Irish Unification

Amid reports that the first ministers of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland were to affirm Monday their countries' right to seek independence from the UK at a summit, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov wrote in a Facebook post on Monday that his party fully supports the independence of Scotland and Wales, and the unification of Ireland.

Kostadinov recalled that 12 years ago, when the first Scottish independence referendum was held, he wrote an article arguing that the UK would soon become a "Divided Kingdom". He said the article was mocked and denounced by "the propagandists" at the time, but that much of what he predicted had since become reality, with the Scottish and Welsh regional parliaments gaining significantly greater powers and open discussion of Irish reunification taking place in Northern Ireland.

"Today, something unprecedented will happen - the prime ministers of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will sign a declaration on joint action to break away from the United Kingdom," Kostadinov wrote in his post. He also mentioned that US President Donald Trump "publicly backed Irish unification" during a visit to Dublin the previous week. Kostadinov said the breakup of the UK was now only "a matter of time".
