Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated on Friday that terrorism has no place in society and that every effort must be made to combat it. He added that the September 11 attacks also raised a fundamental question about how far governments should go in restricting civil liberties in the name of security. He was speaking to journalists and his comments were made on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001.

In his words, the fight against terrorism is "a formidable task that requires action in many directions, the involvement of many institutions, coordination and interaction with partners". "This is a pan-European position," Radev added.

He argued that September 11 raised the question of how far human freedoms can be restricted in the name of safety. There is still no exact answer to this question, he pointed out, adding that this is part of the discussions in society.
