EuroVolley 2026 begins in the Bulgarian capital on Wednesday. More than 120,000 fans are expected to attend the Men's European Championship matches in Sofia. Bulgaria is a co-organizer of the tournament along with Italy, Romania, and Finland.

A total of 24 teams are participating, and Sofia will host the most matches - a total of 21 - from Group B, the round of 16, and the quarterfinals from September 9 to 22. The final will be held on September 26 in Milan.

Bulgaria’s first match of the championship will be played at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Arena 8888, where the world runners-up from 2025 will face North Macedonia.

During EuroVolley 2026, sports activities will be organized in six city parks. A special fan zone will also be set up near Arena 8888, while two additional locations across the city will feature special installations where fans can watch Bulgaria’s matches in the tournament.
