site.btaRegional Development Minister to Inspect Motorway Projects in Ruse and Pleven Regions

Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Shishkov is visiting the northern regions of Ruse and Pleven between August 31 and September 1 to inspect motorway projects, the ministry said.

The first day, Shishkov will inspect construction of the Ruse–Veliko Tarnovo motorway. The inspection will also involve Deputy Regional Development and Public Works Minister Pavleta Pelovska, Road Infrastructure Agency Management Board member Ventsislav Angelov, Ruse Regional Governor Lyubomir Vladimirov, members of parliament from Progressive Bulgaria and mayors of municipalities in the region.

A meeting will be held at the Ruse Regional Administration as part of the Regional Development Ministry's "Regions Speak" initiative. The discussion will be followed by a media briefing.

On September 1, Shishkov will inspect the route of Section 4 of the Hemus motorway in Pleven Region. A media briefing will follow the inspection.

Shishkov's trip comes after an August 21 visit to the Black Sea city of Varna within the "Regions Speak" initiative. He also visited Dobrich, Shumen and Pleven regions on August 17 and 18.

"Regions Speak" was announced in early August as a tour of the country to identify problems with water supply and infrastructure on the ground. Shishkov said at the time: "We are starting to take an active part in visits to Bulgarian municipalities. We want to see the problems; we want to see them on the ground. We want to familiarize ourselves with the problems concerning water and infrastructure and assess where, how and how much assistance is needed."
