The Council of Ministers approved a draft decision establishing an Innovation and Technology Development Council as a consultative mechanism for shaping and implementing a long-term and consistent state policy on innovation and technological development, the government information service said on Thursday.

The new Council, operating under the Innovation and Digital Transformation Minister, will provide a permanent and structured channel of communication between the executive branch and representatives of the innovation ecosystem, including high-tech companies, startups, investors and research organizations. Through its expert-based format, the Council will help identify critical and emerging technologies, develop measures to address regulatory and administrative barriers, expand the entrepreneurial environment, and monitor the implementation of strategic priorities.

The decision is expected to improve policy coordination in the areas of innovation and technological development, as well as facilitate more effective cooperation between the government and the innovation ecosystem.
