site.btaFinance Ministry Projects EUR 660 Minimum Wage for 2027

A projected minimum wage of EUR 660 for 2027 is set out in the Ministry of Finance's Guidelines on the preparation and submission of draft budgets by primary budget authorities for 2027 and their updated budget forecasts for the 2028-2029 period, published on the Ministry's website on Thursday.

For 2028, the projected minimum wage in Bulgaria is EUR 680, and for 2029, it is EUR 710.

The forecast for the maximum social security income is EUR 2,400 for 2027, EUR 2,500 for 2028, and EUR 2,600 for 2029.

On July 24, Parliament decided to develop a new mechanism for setting the national minimum wage, and until then it will remain at the 2026 level of EUR 620.

The government and the social partners agreed on a mechanism for setting the national minimum wage, under which changes in four equally weighted indicators will determine the range within which the minimum wage may increase, as announced on August 17 by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The four indicators are the price index for the basic consumer basket, the gross median wage, the gross average wage and the gross value added per employee over the last 10 years.
