GERB-UDF will shift from constructive to critical opposition in the new parliamentary season and will more clearly point out the government's mistakes, GERB-UDF MP Toma Bikov said in a parliamentary declaration on Wednesday.

Bikov said the tolerance shown by the opposition during the government's first 100 days had been a matter of political culture, but could no longer be afforded.

He described the government of Prime Minister Rumen Radev as transitional rather than reform-oriented, saying it appeared focused on narrow party interests rather than building consensus around long-term strategic goals.

Despite having a full parliamentary majority, the government lacked an effective decision-making mechanism capable of delivering results rather than "words and phrases", Bikov said. He added that the government's biggest challenge was not the opposition but its own inability to meet the commitments placed on it by its parliamentary majority.
