Traffic between km 26 and km 27 of the Trakia Motorway in the direction of Sofia has been restored, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said here on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, RIA said traffic between km 26 and km 27 of the Trakia Motorway in the direction of Sofia was being carried out in the overtaking lane due to vegetation catching fire. Traffic was regulated by Traffic Police.

The fire has been contained and covers an area of 0.3 hectares, the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection told BTA. Several containers were also located at the site where the fire broke out, and one of them caught fire. A firefighting team from Ihtiman has been dispatched to the scene, along with volunteers from Vakarel. A report of dry grass and bushes catching fire was received at 3:28 p.m.
