Drones attacked a border checkpoint on the Moldovan border in the southern part of Odesa region overnight, Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on his Telegram channel.
“Damage was reported at the Tabaki international checkpoint on the Moldovan border. As a result of the massive attack, the checkpoint was damaged, including the administrative buildings of the customs terminal,” the regional governor said.
Traffic through the Tabaki checkpoint has currently been suspended. Vehicles are being redirected to other border crossing points.
Bulgarians in Odesa Region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
