Representatives of the Velichie party met with Iranian Ambassador to Bulgaria Alireza Irvash in Sofia on Tuesday, the party's press office reported. The party was represented by Academician Atanas Gelimachev and Kolyo Paramov, an advisor to Velichie.
During the conversation, two important issues were discussed regarding the strategic problems that have arisen since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East. The sides noted that the severe conflicts that have arisen affect peace and stability throughout the world and are now difficult to accept even by the US military and the US people, the press release reads.
Paramov underscored that this war is unnecessary for the world and is a severe blow to all people. He also recalled the long history of good relations between the two countries. The history of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Iran dates back to 1897, the press release recalls.
Academician Gelimachev emphasized that friendship with Iran is essential for long-standing cooperation. Under no circumstances should this positive growth be undermined, he added.
