The new section of Line 3 of the Sofia Metro along Vladimir Vazov Blvd will open to passengers on Friday, the Metropolitan company reported. Metropolitan CEO Nikolay Naydenov thanked the residents of the Hadzhi Dimitar, Levski B, and Levski G boroughs for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the construction of the metro line.

In late July, the Sofia Municipality announced that four additional Siemens metro trains will be put into service with the opening of the 3-kilometre extension of the third metro line.

The new section includes three metro stations. The extension to the Levski borough is expected to enable more than 45,000 additional people to use the metro daily.
