site.btaAnnual Construction Output Growth Slows to 4.4% in June
Construction output rose by 0.9% month on month and 4.4% year on year in June 2026, preliminary National Statistical Institute (NSI) data showed on Monday.
The monthly data were seasonally adjusted, while the annual comparison was based on calendar-adjusted figures.
The index fell by 0.8% month on month in May but rose by 5.6% compared with May 2025. It declined by 0.1% month on month in April but increased by 6.6% year on year. In March, the index rose by 0.6% month on month and 7.7% year on year. It increased by 3.1% month on month and 8% year on year in February. In January, the index fell by 1.2% month on month but rose by 4% year on year.
The monthly increase in June reflected a 2.4% rise in building construction output and a 0.2% increase in specialized construction activities. Civil engineering output fell by 0.5%.
Compared with June 2025, building construction output increased by 11.9% and civil engineering output by 3.6%, while specialized construction activities declined by 3.1%.
