A yellow code warning for hot weather has been issued for 20 regions in Bulgaria on Tuesday, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said on its website.

The warning is in force for the regions of Varna, Dobrich, Silistra, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Pleven, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana, Vidin, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Yambol and Sliven.

High temperatures are expected in these regions, with daytime highs reaching 35C-37C.

According to NIMH’s weather forecast, Tuesday will be sunny and hot in the lowlands in the afternoon. There will be temporary increases in cloud cover, mainly over the eastern and mountainous regions, but almost no rainfall is expected. A light to moderate northeasterly wind will blow.
