North Macedonia and India discussed on Tuesday bilateral relations and opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation during talks between North Macedonia's President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and Indian President Droupadi Murmu, who is on an official visit to the country.

At a joint press conference, Siljanovska-Davkova said that her country is an attractive entry point for Indian companies seeking to expand their presence in Europe, as North Macedonia is located at the crossroads of major European transport corridors, with political stability, a competitive business climate, a highly skilled workforce, and preferential access to European markets.

Trade between the two countries reached approximately USD 133 million in 2025, which, according to North Macedonia's President, is far below its true potential.

Murmu said the two sides had agreed to expand bilateral trade and double its current volume, focusing on sectors such as information technology, agriculture, the food industry, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and culture.
