site.btaWizz Air Launches Direct Flights between Varna and Basel

Wizz Air is launching direct flights between Varna and Basel, Switzerland, the airline's press centre said on Thursday. Flights on the new route will start on October 27 and will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The airline said the new service expands travel opportunities between Bulgaria and Switzerland by facilitating access for passengers from the Black Sea region to one of Europe's leading economic, cultural and transport centres. The new connection is also expected to contribute to the development of tourist and business exchange between the two countries.

According to Wizz Air, the airline currently operates 23 routes from Varna to 13 countries. The carrier has three aircraft based in Varna and continues to expand its network of direct flights from the maritime capital, the airline's press office added.
