The National Assembly on Wednesday debated at second reading amendments to the Credit Institutions Act, tabled by the Council of Ministers.
The amendments transpose two European Union directives and introduce sanctions that may be imposed on banks and financial holding companies, including measures related to the enforcement of unpaid financial obligations.
Also on Parliament's agenda are amendments to an investment project concerning the acquisition of Stryker combat vehicles and the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of Mongolia on International Road Transport of Passengers and Goods.
The fourth item on Thursday's agenda is the 2025 annual report of Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev.
At the beginning of the sitting, MRF MP Hamid Hamid asked National Assembly Chair Mihaela Dotsova to assist in obtaining documents related to the travel of MRF leader Delyan Peevski.
Hamid said Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev had promised during a parliamentary hearing on July 2 to provide documents, with the names of officials redacted, after making claims concerning Peevski's travel. He said the requested documents had not yet been submitted despite a written request to the National Assembly Chair and alleged there were concerns that the Interior Minister might tamper with them.
