site.btaSofia University to Host 63rd International Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture
The 63rd International Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture for foreign scholars and students of Bulgarian and Slavic studies will be held from July 12 to August 1 at the Rectorate of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, the university said on its website.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for July 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Aula of the Rectorate.
The seminar is organized by the Faculty of Slavic Studies at Sofia University with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science.
According to the university, the programme is intended for university lecturers, researchers, and students specializing in Bulgarian and Slavic studies, as well as for translators and anyone with an interest in Bulgaria's language, literature, history, and culture.
The previous edition of the traditional summer seminar took place from July 13 to August 2, 2025, at the university's Rectorate.
The Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture is one of Sofia University's longest-running academic initiatives. Established in 1962, it has for more than six decades brought together participants from around the world to study the Bulgarian language and gain deeper insight into the country's cultural and historical heritage.
