Bansko Bike Fest will bring cycling enthusiasts together in the mountain town for a second year in a row from July 10 to 12, the municipal press service said on Sunday. The festival will gather professional riders, amateurs and families.
The festival programme features a cycling rally to Vihren Hut, gravel rides on scenic routes at the foot of Pirin Mountain and an escorted road tour to the village of Ortsevo. It also offers hands-on training with professional instructors, themed cycling tours to Avramovo and through Bansko’s old streets, bike tests, an exhibition by leading brands, children’s activities, outdoor yoga and a party zone.
Bansko Bike Fest is organized by Bansko Municipality and the Bansko Bike Fest Association, with support from the Ministry of Tourism. The full programme is available on the event’s website.
A few weeks ago, Bansko Mayor Stoycho Banenski told BTA the town is expected to establish itself in the next few years as one of the Balkans’ leading cycling destinations. Mountain biking has developed rapidly in recent decades, with resorts investing in trails, bike parks and a range of cycling tourism products, Banenski said.
