site.btaWorld Bank to Support Bulgaria in Making More Effective Use of Education Data
The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved the signing of an amendment to an agreement between the Education and Science Ministry and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank Group, on the implementation of a project to strengthen the preparation and use of data for better learning outcomes in Bulgaria. The amendment extends the project's implementation period from 22 to 28 months and revises the schedule of project activities, the Government Information Service said.
The agreement provides for an assessment of existing data sources in education and recommendations for a more effective approach to collecting, using, storing, and sharing information. Bulgaria will be assisted in creating a comprehensive system for monitoring and information, which will enable schools to conduct self-assessments, allowing them to prioritize and improve their indicators in a timely manner. At the national level, the data will support the implementation of more effective long-term solutions for the development of the education system.
