Starting on July 1, fines are collected in Serbia from owners or users of trucks and lorries who do not pay their tolls electronically using TAG devices, Serbian broadcaster RTS reported on Wednesday.

TAG is an electronic device that allows for fast, contactless toll payments.

Fines of RSD 500,000 (EUR 4,259.29) to RSD 2,000,000 (EUR 17,037.16) for legal entities, as well as from RSD 10,000 (EUR 85.19) to RSD 100,000 (EUR 851.86) for a responsible person within a company, are envisaged for failure to comply with the law.

Fines of RSD 10,000 to 500,000 are also foreseen for entrepreneurs, as well as RSD 5,000 (about EUR 43) to RSD 50,000 (about EUR 430) for individuals.
