site.btaClassified SANS Report on Varna Illegal Construction Case Submitted to Parliament

There is a report by the State Agency for National Security (SANS) on the Varna illegal construction case and Ukrainian businessman Oleg Nevzorov, whose company, KYB, is linked to the project. The report has been submitted to the National Assembly's registry, said Rumen Milanov, chair of the Committee for Oversight of the Security Services, speaking to journalists on Thursday after a closed meeting of the committee.

According to him, the report contains certain classified information, as well as facts and data related to pre-trial proceedings. It does not specify criminal offences, but rather the mechanism of the alleged criminal activity, Milanov said.

Asked whether the report mentions intervention from the Ukrainian Embassy, he said that diplomatic intervention was rather vaguely defined and amounted to a position expressed by Ukraine's ambassador. The letter is not included in the report because it was held by the Foreign Ministry, while a diplomatic note on the matter exists, the MP added.

Boyko Rashkov, MP from the Continue the Change parliamentary group, showed the media a notarial deed which he said concerns properties in the Baba Alino area near Varna jointly owned by Nevzorov and the father of GERB MEP Emil Radev.

On Wednesday, Yordan Terziyski of Continue the Change said that GERB had provided political protection in the Varna case, arguing that the father of a GERB MEP was a business partner of Nevzorov's company in facilities in the Baba Alino area.
