President Iotova Appoints New Central Election Commission

President Iliana Iotova has signed a decree appointing the members of Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC), as nominated by the parties and coalitions represented in the 52nd National Assembly, the President’s press service said on Monday. Effective June 23, 2026, the composition of the Central Election Commission will be as follows:

Chair: Georgi Horozov

Deputy Chairs: Ismail Osman and Margarita Mahaeva

Secretary: Yordanka Gancheva

Members: Alina Dobreva, Anna Aleksandrova, Vyara Todeva, Georgi Bahanov, Desislava Abrasheva, Zinaida Zlatanova, Ivan Karchev, Yordan Vasilev, Lazarina Boneva-Haralampieva, Stoyanka Balova-Tsvetkova, and Tsvetan Enchev.

Iotova conducted the procedure for appointing the new CEC. During public consultations held on June 9, the parties and coalitions represented in the current National Assembly presented their nominees. The nominated candidates were subsequently heard at a public hearing on June 12.
