site.btaInternational Exercise STRIKE BACK 26 to Enhance Allied Capabilities
The Bulgarian Land Forces will conduct the international live-fire tactical exercise STRIKE BACK 26 from May 29 to June 11 at the Koren military training area near Haskovo, the Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
The exercise is aimed to enhance the capabilities of the headquarters and units of the 42nd Mechanized Battalion of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade for planning and conducting combat operations within the brigade in an allied format.
More than 1,500 military personnel and 420 units of combat and support equipment will take part in the exercise. Participating forces and assets include units from the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, formations from the Land Forces and the Air Force, representatives of the Military Medical Academy, cadets from the National Military University, the manoeuvre company of the rotational US Land Forces contingent at Novo Selo training range in Bulgaria, Italian formations from NATO’s Multinational Battlegroup in Bulgaria, and units from the armed forces of Turkiye and Romania.
A capabilities demonstration day featuring dynamic and static displays will be held on June 11 at the Koren training area, the statement said.
